Halo 3 was released to all of the excitement on the 25th September 2007. It is both the crowning achievement in the series, as well as the supposed end song for Master Chief. Bungie’s now-famous tagline, “finish the fight”, was used to create Halo 3. It had previously agreed with Microsoft that it would end its partnership after the release of a new series of Halo games. The third game was the first of this batch, and its creation suffered from internal studio conflicts, including creative heads walking out mid-development. Bungie managed to match Halo 2’s level of quality and migrate to the Xbox 360. And, it delivered a satisfying conclusion.
