Jujutsu Kaisen 0 has 2nd biggest opening in Japan box office history

Jujutsu Kaisen 0, In its first weekend, the film was Japan’s number one feature-length movie based upon the anime. According to a post shared by CrunchyRoll — which is owned by the licensors of the show, Sony and Funimation — the movie earned roughly $14.11 million during its opening weekend in Japan, making it the second strongest opening for a film in Japan’s box office history.

On Dec. 24, Toho Animation released the film. Studio MAPPA also released it in Japan. It had a solid opening weekend. However, it came in below the 2021 anime smash. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba: The Movie: Mugen train.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Yuta Okkotsu follows a young boy, Yuta Okkotsu. He must overcome the curse of Rika Oimoto. Based on four chapters from the manga Gege Akutami that take place prior to the events in the series, the movie will be based. Although Yuta will be the main character, there are also other familiar faces, such as Saturo and Jujutsu High alumni.
