Diablo 4’s new blog highlights big Legendary and Paragon changes

Blizzard put out its final Diablo 4Blog of the Year on Monday. It contained a wide range of information. These topics include loot and legendaries as well as the Paragon system’s new visual effects.

With the blog post clocking in at around 3,500 words, it’s a little intimidating to look at. The five most important facts you should know.

Skill+ items let you unlock skills early

Diablo 4, some items will have bonuses for certain skills like “+4 to Flay.” The more bonus points a skill has, the more powerful and useful it becomes. If players haven’t unlocked that skill yet, they’ll be able to use it as long as they keep that piece of gear equipped — even if they’re too low level.

A new NPC can help you transfer Legendary abilities

New NPC The Occultist has been added to the NPC List Diablo 4Legendary power can be distilled into various items by a Legendary. Different Legendaries operate in different ways Diablo 4You can have the same power drop on several types of different items. If you have a Legendary power on a weapon you don’t want to use, you can take it to the Occultist and they’ll break it down into a new item called Essence. You can use Essence to get the Legendary power, but no other item. This allows you to place Essence on any new type of item, transforming a rare or legendary with the specific power.

This blog post shows a Barbarian axe that has the Pent-Up power. Fury skills will do additional damage if you don’t cast them. Occultist converts the Legendary Axe into Pent Up Essence and destroys it. You can then use the Essence item on rare one-hand weapons, two-handed weapons, gloves, rings or amulets.

Certain monsters hoard certain items

The blog post highlights a few small changes that will help players find certain items. Loot is no longer the standard Diablo all-inclusive loot. Monsters are more likely to obsess about certain types of items. One example is that bandits often carry crossbows, maces and boots. If you are looking for a pair of Legendary pants, try searching out a group of drowned enemies.

It’s a little silly, having to hunt the pant obsessives if you want a better shot at those trousers you have your eye on, but it should make farming a bit more friendly.

Paragon’s system offers some of these features Path of ExileSkills tree vibrations

Paragon is the central focus of this blog post. Once you reach level 50, you’ll start gaining Paragon points — similar to how you got them in Diablo 3. But instead of just investing them in stat increases, you’ll unlock new nodes on a giant board.

Each class has their own board and can unlock nodes via points. You can find normal stat nodes and magic nodes giving bonus stats. Rare nodes give mild effects. A single Legendary Node gives you a Legendary power. Glyph sockets allow players to insert special items from dungeons into the board and give them new effects.

The end of your board can be explored, which will allow you to attach another board with Legendary nodes to it. This allows you to continue building on these boards, which will increase your power significantly over time.

Every monster class is different.

Final thoughts: The group discusses powerful visual improvements that will be made. Diablo 4. Some classes have special destruction effects that will affect enemies. This is one of the most exciting changes. As in Diablo 3Enemies will explode with electricity and fire spells to give them a special death animation. This feature, however is more special. Diablo 4.

Barbarians and barbarians can cut up or break down monsters. Sorceresses may freeze and burn them. Rogues are able to spill a monster’s guts onto the field, or poison them, causing their skin to melt off. Druids have the ability to crush enemy enemies using boulders that leave a trail on the ground or explode them with lightning.

Each class is given its own unique list of effects in this blog post. It also includes a forward. Diablo 4’s new game director, Joe Shely. He succeeded the former Diablo 4Luis Barriga was the game director at Activision Blizzard, and he resigned in August following harassment allegations by the state of California. Over 40 Activision Blizzard employees were disciplined during the three months that followed the initial lawsuit.

California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing’s (DFEH) investigation found that women are paid less and subject to sexual harassment at Activision Blizzard, without meaningful punishment applied to perpetrators. In the period since the lawsuit was filed in late July, the DFEH has expanded its complaint to include allegations that Activision Blizzard “suppressed” evidence in its investigation. That claim was denied by Activision Blizzard.

Activision Blizzard currently faces multiple lawsuits and a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission probe. The U.S. filed one of the lawsuits. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission was paid $18 million in settlement earlier this year.

The workers at the company continue to use social media to advocate for substantial changes. You can read more about the allegations against Activision Blizzard in Polygon’s explainer.
