Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II Gameplay Revealed At The Game Awards
Tonight, opening the annual Game Awards show, developer Ninja Theory showed off the first look at Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II gameplay.
Opening trailer shows Senua as a protagonist entering a cave alongside her friends. A large, man-like creature stalks the outside. The team confronts the beast and sets it ablaze after it enters the cave. Senua’s crew quickly goes into flames and the monster slams around trying to strike back. Senua, along with the other survivors, is seen retreating from the crew. The crew tries desperately to escape and strike back as hard as it can.
Senua and her crew fail to take down the beast as it chases them around the cave smashing nearby structures. Senua is asked for assistance by the beast at end of trailer. Senua says, “I’m sorry,” and another voice inside her heads responds “It is you.” This is the end of the trailer.
Host Geoff Keighley said at the end of the trailer that what we were watching wasn’t a cinematic, but real gameplay, though it was hard to tell how interactive anything shown off in the trailer actually was – the camera was constantly whipping around during the trailer, seemingly indicating at least part of it was, in fact, cinematics. It seems that everything was being shown in the engine.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II will be released on Xbox Series X/S and PC. The game will be also available via Xbox’s Game Pass subscription. It was not announced when it would be available.
