Play In The Company Of Heroes 3 Pre-Alpha Multiplayer Test Starting Tomorrow

Strategists looking to return to World War II battlefields will have the chance of participating in the Company of Heroes 3 multiplayer pre-alpha test that begins tomorrow.

A video from developer Relic Entertainment, featuring principal producer Morain McLaughlin, details some aspects of Company of Heroes 3 players can expect to play around with during the test. Players will also have access to American and German troops, although the final product will contain more factions (including an Italian battalion), which will be revealed next year. Each military force will feature two battlegroups to explore, replacing the doctrines and commanders from previous games. The battlegroups offer an array of capabilities, upgrades, and units that can be used throughout matches.

Pre-alpha testing will be multiplayer-only. However, those who want to face the AI computer-controlled in 1-v-1 or 2-players vs 2-CPU can do so. The tactical pause option will not be available in multiplayer modes.

Other new features available will be outfitting vehicles with side armor, a veterancy system, and verticality in maps. Relic is promising more updates for 2022. This includes new factions and units as well as more mechanics that will be unveiled over the course of the following months.

Preloading is available right now on Steam for established COH-Development account holders. Anyone new to the COH-Development program can head over to the game’s community site and sign up for an account there. Company of Heroes 3 will be available for PC on an unknown date in 2022.
