Insomniac Says Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 New Game Plus ‘Should Be Before End Of Year’

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is almost here – just one more day until it hits PlayStation 5 exclusively on October 20. We loved it – read Game Informer review of it here – and are excited for everyone to get their hands on it. Insomniac Games recommended yesterday that players download a day-one patch to get the “best possible experience” prior to starting the mission. Now, they have revealed when the New Game Plus will be available in the sequel. 

First reported by PlayStation LifestyleJames Stevenson, community director at Insomniac Games was asked by a member of the public if New Game Plus would feature in this game. Stevenson replied, “No. We’re currently working on a new update that will include these features, but they will not be available in the first day.”

Stevenson responded to a Twitter user who expressed disappointment with the responses. He clarified that New Game Plus wasn’t a Day 1 option in Marvel’s Spider-Man but was a feature added approximately six weeks after the game launched. 

Stevenson responded to a question on Twitter asking if New Game Plus would be released this year, or in 2024. He said that it should arrive “before the end of the year.”
