The adorable platformer 2009 A Boy and His Blob jumps to Switch today.
The Wii version of A Boy and His Blob Trouble on Blobolonia was first released. With the aid of his shape-shifting blob friend, players can control the titular boy to complete 2D platforming puzzles. Blob jellybeans are transformed by feeding them. They can become 15 items, such as a parachute or anvil. The game’s best feature: you can hug the Blob anytime.
The original Wii release, “A Boy and His Blob”, has been a fan favorite. Our score for the Wii original release was 8. In her review, former GI editor Meagan Marie wrote that “…there is something undeniably magnetic about the game. The lush environments, charming characters, and the infinite power of the hug button make it impossible to stay upset for too long.” Over the last decade, it’s been ported to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices.
