Xbox Insider Release Notes – Alpha Skip-Ahead (2408.231008-2000)
Hello Xbox Insiders. The Alpha Skip-Ahead Ring will soon be receiving a brand new Xbox Update. It’s important we note that some updates made in these preview OS builds include background improvements that ensure a quality and stable build for Xbox consoles.
We continue to post these release notes, even when the noticeable changes to the UI are minimal, so you’re aware when updates are coming to your device. You can find the full details below.

System Update Details:
- OS Version Released: RS_XBOX_DEV_FLIGHT25970.1005.231008-2000
- Available: 2 p.m. PT – October 11, 2023
- Mandatory: 3 a.m. PT – October 12, 2023
Fixed
We are pleased to announce that the following improvements have been made to this build thanks to the efforts of Xbox engineers:
Installation
- Microsoft Store stuck on 100% after updating or installing? Fixes.
Manage Queue
- Fixed an issue where the border around “When games and apps are installing, you’ll see them here” could extend off-screen.
Use a mouse and keyboard
- Fixed mouse clicking issues in supported titles.
The system is a
- Updates to reflect the local language across consoles.

Problems that are already known
It is our understanding that some of these issues were listed in the previous Xbox Insider release notes. These items aren’t being ignored, but it will take Xbox engineers more time to find a solution.
Audiences can be heard by clicking on the following link:
- Users have reported intermittent audio issues across dashboards, games and apps. Verify that your TV, and any other devices you use have the most recent firmware update. If you’re unsure, you may need to contact the manufacturer for assistance.
- Please Note:: If you continue to experience issues after applying the latest firmware updates, please submit feedback via Report a Problem immediately with the “Reproduce with advanced diagnostics” option, then select the category “Console experiences” and “Console Audio Output Issues”. Include as much detail as you can:
- What was the initial cause of your problem?
- Do you only lose audio in games/apps or also the system audio?
- If yes, does changing the audio format solve the issue? What was the audio format prior to and after changing?
- Rebooting the computer fixes this issue?
- What’s included in your setup? Equipment, layout, etc.
- Please provide any other information that you may have to help reproduce the issue.

Enjoy the Games
- There have been reports that some games do not allow you to manage your party properly. We are currently investigating.
- Unexpected cursors may appear during game play in certain titles. We will fix this with an upcoming update.
- WorkaroundYou can remove the cursor by disconnecting the mouse or moving it out of your way.
- A fix for the issue that causes unexpected steering wheel vibrating in certain titles will be released in an upcoming update.
Xbox Controllers: Keyboard button mapping
- The change in keyboard language will take effect after you close the Xbox Accessories App or restart your console.
Networking
- Reports indicate that consoles may not boot up to the network correctly. If you experience this, be sure to report the issue via Report a Problem as soon as you’re able.
Be sure to use Report a Problem to keep us informed of your issue. We may not be able to respond to everyone, but the data we’ll gather is crucial to finding a resolution.
