Xbox Insider Release Notes – Alpha Skip-Ahead (2408.231005-2000)

Hello Xbox Insiders. The Alpha Skip-Ahead Ring will soon be receiving a brand new Xbox Update. It’s important we note that some updates made in these preview OS builds include background improvements that ensure a quality and stable build for Xbox consoles.

We continue to post these release notes, even when the noticeable changes to the UI are minimal, so you’re aware when updates are coming to your device. Below are the details!

System Update Details:

• OS Version Released: RS_XBOX_DEV_FLIGHT25969.1001.231005-2000
• Available: 2 p.m. PT – October 9, 2023
• Mandatory: 3 a.m. PT – October 10, 2023

Fixed

We are pleased to announce that the following improvements have been made to this build thanks to the efforts of Xbox engineers:

• Updates to reflect the local language across console.

Problems that are already known

Some issues may have already been addressed in prior Xbox Insider Release notes. These items aren’t being ignored, but it will take Xbox engineers more time to find a solution.

Audiences can be heard by clicking on the following link:

• Users have reported intermittent audio issues across dashboards, games and apps. If you are experiencing issues, make sure that you have updated the firmware on your TV or other equipment. If you’re unsure, you may need to contact the manufacturer for assistance.
  • Please Note:: If you continue to experience issues after applying the latest firmware updates, please submit feedback via Report a Problem immediately with the “Reproduce with advanced diagnostics” option, then select the category “Console experiences” and “Console Audio Output Issues”. Please include as many details as possible.
    • What was the initial cause of your problem?
    • Is the audio only in your game/app, or is it also system audio?
    • If yes, does changing the audio format solve the issue? How did the previous and new formats compare?
    • Rebooting the computer fixes this issue.
    • What is your set-up? Equipment, layout, etc.
    • You can also provide additional information to try and reproduce the error.

Play the Game

• Investigating reports about party management issues in certain titles.
• The reports we have received about an unwanted cursor appearing during play in some games is being investigated.
  • WorkaroundYou can remove the cursor by disconnecting the mouse or moving it out of your way.

Installation

• Microsoft Store is stuck on 100% during updates/installations. We’re investigating these reports. You can report the problem by clicking on Report a Issue.
  • WorkaroundIf the Microsoft Store was recently opened, close it by selecting Quit from the menu button. Next, you can pause the update and then resume it. If this behavior continues, you can restart the console using the Power Center. Find out how to reset or power cycle the Xbox.

Xbox Controllers: Keyboard button mapping

• The change in keyboard language will take effect after you close the Xbox Accessories App or reboot your console.

Manage Queue

• When the queue is empty, the border around “When games and apps are installing, you’ll see them here” may appear to extend off-screen. This is being fixed.

Networking

• We’re investigating reports about a console that may not be able to connect with their network at boot. If you experience this, be sure to report the issue via Report a Problem as soon as you’re able.

Use only the best quality Report a Problem to keep us informed of your issue. We may not be able to respond to everyone, but the data we’ll gather is crucial to finding a resolution.
