Daniel Dae Kim cast as Lord Ozai in the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender
Daniel Dae Kim has been cast in Netflix’s upcoming live-action adaptation of the animated series Avatar for The Last Airbender The LostActor will portray Fire Lord Ozai (leader of the brutal Fire Nation, father to fan favorite character Prince Zuko).
Kim is perhaps best-known for playing Jin Kwon. LostHe also was in 24 and Netflix’s StowawayIt is. His voice work has included animated series and other areas of the Avatar Universe. Kim was the voice of General Fong in an episode on Avatar Universe. Avatar of The Last AirbenderHiroshi Sao, and her in many episodes of the series’ spinoff. Legend of Korra
The showrunner and head writer of Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Avatar Albert Kim (NikitaDan Lin is the executive producer of the series (see below).The LegoMovie), Lindsey Liberatore (Walker), and Michael Goi (American Horror StoryThe series will be directed by some episodes. Along with Gordon Cormier and Kiawentiio, Kim stars in the series. Ian Ousley plays Sokka. Dallas Liu is Zuko. The original series’ creators, Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, were originally involved with the new live-action version, but departed the project in August.
There’s no official release date yet for the live-action Avatar for The Last AirbenderHowever, it is possible that it will be available as early as 2022.
