Twitter’s creepy Dear David thread looks like an even creepier movie

Artist Buzzfeed reflects on 2017 Adam EllisDavid’s ghost haunted the man. It being 2017 he decided to do what any online journalist would have done: tweet about it. In a Buzzfeed article and over several days, Ellis detailed his haunting, the fear it caused, and how it reached the Internet. More than six years after the original article, this thread is now a horror film called Dear David.

Trailer of the movie Dear David adds a few creepy expansions to the world of the story — whether real or not — in ways that certainly make it a lot more haunting. The movie, unlike the original thread makes Adam’s ghost seem to be connected to a cursed twitter account. This is because Adam engaged in an online conversation with a troll.

Adam begins to see visions of an eerie child whose skull appears to be cratered by some unknown force. In his quest to get to the bottom of the apparition, Adam finds the story of a mentally disturbed mother who attacked her child, and even more grim secrets — and that’s just in the trailer.
