Diablo 4 patch notes for July 18 show class balance changes, bug fixes
Blizzard Entertainment has released a patch for Diablo 4On Tuesday, the Season of the Malignant was released to help prepare the game. This included a number of fixes for bugs, changes in balance, as well as new items, legends, and unique aspects. The full patch 1.1 notes are worth perusing before you create a new character for season 1, especially if you’ve been relying on bugged builds to make your journey through Sanctuary easier.
The biggest changes that are coming to the world Diablo 4’s latest patch (version 1.1.0a on both console and PC) include that Altar of Lilith unlocks and map discovery are now account-wide. The World Tiers and their rewards have also changed. Tier 2 offers players more gold, more enemies dropping items and the monster scale in tiers 3, and 4.

The following are some general guidelines:
Ahavarion Spear of Lycander (Uber Unique Staff – World Tier 4):You will gain a random shrine effect between 10 and 20 seconds following the death of an Elite opponent. It can happen only once in every 30 seconds. -
Barbarian
Azurewrath (Unique Sword):Your core skills have a chance of up to 20% to freeze enemies for three seconds, and to deal them 0.75-1.5% Cold Damage. -
Druid
Fleshrender (Unique One-Hand Mace):Blood Howl deals 0.5 to 1.0 damage to enemies nearby that are poisoned. -
Necromancer
Lidless Wall:If you’re in the middle of an active Bone Storm when you hit an enemy, there is a chance that it will spawn a second Bone Storm. This can be as high as 5-25%. Your active sacrifice bonuses increase the Bone Storm chance by 25 percent and your total amount of additional Bone Storms by 1. -
Rogue
Eaglehorn (Unique Bow):The Penetrating shot has a chance of firing an arrow which bounces back off the walls or scenery. When you hit an enemy from behind, they will become Vulnerable. -
Sorcerer
The Oculus (Unique Wand):You can get the Teleport Enchantment free of charge. Teleport Enchantment is used to help you escape.
Version 1.1.0a adds new Legendary Aspects

The following are some general guidelines:
The Audacity of the Utility:You can stun enemies for up to 2-4 secs when there are five or more nearby. It can happen only once every 20 second.
The Mobility Aspect of Craven:When moving away from Slowed or chilled enemies, you gain 20-40% more movement speed. -
Barbarian
The Ancestral Charge is an offensive aspect.Charge summons 4 Ancients, who all Charge and deal 50-100% normal damage. -
Druid
Subterranean (Offensive Aspect): Poison Creeper’s active also casts Landslide in a circle around you. Earth Skills increase damage by 10-20% for Poisoned enemy. -
Necromancer
Gore Quills – Offensive AspectBlood Lances will also create lances by consuming Blood Orbs. Blood Lances are a powerful addition to your arsenal. They deal 20-50% more damage than normal and target enemies that haven’t been lanced. -
Rogue
The Pestilence Points:Poison is added to every third Puncture, ranging from 100-150% the normal strength. -
Sorcerer
“Searing Wards” (Offensive Side)Firewalls are free after spending between 200 and 100 Mana. They will also destroy Small Missiles.
Blizzard’s latest patch is of great interest to Barbarians using the Aspect of Ancestral Echoes. Blizzard corrected a bug with the Hammer of the Ancients which caused more damage that intended. “We recognize this adjustment is a significant decrease to the Hammer of the Ancients Barbarian build, but we do not want its strength to be reliant on an underlying bug,” Blizzard said.
There are several classes in Diablo 4 is getting touched in Tuesday’s patch, and Blizzard says it has “chosen to focus Season of the Malignant’s balance updates on clear itemization disparities over redesigns of Class features. The Class changes are largely focused on numeric increases to Skill Upgrades and Legendary Aspects that players haven’t yet found compelling.”
Here’s a rundown of what’s changing in each class, from Blizzard’s patch notes:
Barbarian
The following are some of the skills that you can learn:
- Duration of the Violent double swing Vulnerable has been increased to 2 seconds.
- The damage bonus for Furious Upheaval per stack has increased from 3% up to 5%.
- Power Charge Cooldown can now be reduced by a maximum 3 targets.
- Tactical Ground Stomp Fury gains increased from 25, to 40.
- Enhanced Death Blow’s damage bonus to Bosses increased from 100% to 150%.
- The duration of the Enhanced Steel Grasp Vulnerable has been increased from 2,5 to 3 seconds.
- The damage caused by Enhanced Rupture has increased from 30 to 45 percent.
- Warrior’s Rupture Attack Speed bonus increased from 20% to 30%, and duration increased from 4 to 5 seconds.
- Fighter’s Rupture healing increased from 15% to 18% Maximum Life.
You can also use Passive Efforts
- Now, Hamstring slows only healthy enemies. Slow amounts have increased from 10/20/30% up to 20/40/60%.
- The bonus for Vulnerable who suffers from Cut-to-the Bone Bleeding has been reduced to 5/10/15%, down from 6/12/18%.
Paragon
- Wrath Glyph’s bonus now affects all damage instead of just Core Skills.
There are many aspects to consider.
- Relentless Berserker’s Aspect Berserking duration increased from 1 to 2 seconds.
- Battle-Mad Aspect’s Beserking Duration increased from 1-2.5 seconds to 2-3.5.
- Brawler’s Aspect damage increased from 1-1.3 to 1.5-1.8.
- Burning Rage Damage increased from.08 -.14 to 0.22 -.28.
- Iron Warrior Damage Reduction now reduces damage by 18-28%.
- Chances of a Slaking Aspect lucky hit increased from 30-50% up to 40-60%.
- Lucky Hit Chance for Ancestral Echoes increased from 40-50% up to 50-60%.
- Weapon Master’s Aspect Lucky Hit Chance increased from 32-50% to 37%-55%.
The following are examples of
- Gohr’s Devastating Grips now explodes every 2 seconds or after it ends, and its hit cap has been removed.
- The damage bonus on Fields Of Crimson Bleeding has been increased to 15%.
Druid

- Stormstrike Damage Reduction has been reduced from 25% down to 15%.

- Prime Grizzly Rage now grants Unstoppable 6 seconds rather than while active.

- The threshold for Overpower is now 24/20/16 instead of 35/30/25 seconds.
Spirit Boon
- Now, Masochistic also needs a Lucky Hit Chance of 75%.
- Prickleskin thorns have increased in number from.1 up to.15.
- Iron Feather’s Maximum Life has increased from 10% up to 14%.
- Bolster Fortify has been increased to 15 % of maximum life.
- The Overload Damage increased by.2 up to.25.
Paragon

- Calm Breeze Lucky Hit Chance increased from 5-10% up to 7-12%.

- Skinwalker’s Aspect healing increased from .05-.1 to .07-.12.
- Reduced Symbiotic aspect Cooldown from 4-8 down to 3-5.
- Stampede’s damage bonus has been increased by 16-26%.
- Shepherd’s damage bonus increased from 6-8% to 6-10%.

- Supreme Blood Waves leaves Blood Orbs in their wake.
- Increased by 50% the range to auto-target Corpses using Skeletons, Corpse Explosions, and Corpse Tendrils on mouse or keyboard.
- Raise Skeleton Skeletal Priest’s bonus damage has increased from 20% up to 30%.
- The healing of Skeleton Skeletals priests has been increased by 15%.
The Passive
- The bonus Evulsion damage for Vulnerable has been reduced from 6/12/18% down to 5/10/15%.
- Increased Transfusion Minion Healing from 15/30/45% (20/40/60%).
- The chance of a lucky hit with Drain Vitality has increased from 25 to 30 percent.
- Amplify Damage has been increased to 4/8/12% from 3/6/9%.
Book of the Dead
- Necromancer’s minions will now automatically re-summon after respawning during a World Boss fight.
- Thorns are now 50% more powerful when you upgrade to Skeleton Warriors Defenders.
- The number of Shadow Skeleton mage upgrades required to get an extra shadow bolt has been reduced from five to four.
- Increased Bone Skeleton Mage upgrade Fortify from 11% up to 20%
- Reduced from 5 to 4 the number of upgrades needed for Slam attacks.
Paragon
- Essence Glyph’s bonus now affects all damage instead of just Core Skills.
There are many aspects to consider.
- The damage bonus from Splintering-Aspect Bone Shards has been reduced to 30-60%.
- Damage bonus from Aspects of Plunging Darkness increased to 75-125%.
- Coldbringer’s Aspect blizzard cooldown reduced from 10 to 8 seconds.
- Aspect of Hungry Blood increased the chance that a Blood Lance will be fired from 10-20% up to 13-23%.
- Blood-soaked aspect damage has increased from.15 -.2 up to.24 -.31.
- Aspect damage from Ultimate Shadow increased to.43-.48.
- The bonus for Critical Strikes caused by Aspect of Grasping Venins has been reduced from 30% to 60%.
- Bone Storm Bonus duration of Osseous Gale Aspect increased from 4-8 seconds to 5-10 second.
- Damage bonus from Aspects of the Damned increased to 40%-50%.
- Reduced from 70% to 60% the damage caused by Aspect Echoes that are blood-bathed.
- Damage bonus for Skeletons Aspects of Reanimation increased from 20%-30% to 30%-40%

- Increased Victimize Lucky Hit Chance from 30% to 35 %
- The Siphoning Strikes also now require that you have a chance to hit the Lucky Hit of 75%.
- Increased Rugged Damage reduction against Damage Over time effects from 5/10/15 onwards to 6/12/18.
- Stealthed healing increased by 4/8/12% while Mending the Obscurity healed per second.
- Aftermath Energy Restored increased from 25, 50, 75 to 30, 60, 90.
Paragon
- Combat Glyph’s bonus now affects all damage instead of just Core Skills.
- Eldritch Bounty Legendary Node Duration increased from 6-9.
Specialization
- Preparation’s Ultimate Cooldown reduction increased from 4 to 5 seconds.
Legendary Aspects
- Damage from Volatile Shadows increased by.2 to 27.
- Icy Alchemist’s Aspect Chill increased from 15% to 25%.
- Shadowslicer’s Aspect has increased its damage from 25-35% up to 80-100%.
- Toxic Alchemist’s damage increased from 0.080-0.13 to .11-.16.
- Vengeful aspect Lucky Hit chance increased from 30-50% up to 40-60%.
- Duration of the Aspect Imbuements was increased by 9 seconds.
- The healing aspect of Stolen Vigor has increased from.02 to.06 up to.04 to.08.
- Duration of the Aspect of Lethal Dusk Life of Kill increased from 4 seconds to 6 second.
- The bonus damages for Noxious Ice have increased from 10% to 29%.
- Dodge Aspect of Elusive Menace Chance increased from 1-5% To 3-7%.

- Ice Blades’ cast cleanup has been improved, so players can act sooner after the cast.
- The initial firebolt damage has increased from 10% up to 18%.
- Wizard’s Firewall maximum increased Mana Regeneration increased from 25% to 35%.
- Wizard’s Blizzard Core Skill Mana cost reduction increased from 10% to 20%.
- Supreme Deep Freeze Reduced Cooldown from 50% to 100 %
The Passive
- Now Elemental Dominance also impacts Mastery skills instead of Core Skills.
- The duration of Potent Warding has been increased to nine seconds.
- Duration of the Protection Barrier increased from 2 seconds to 3 second.
- The Align the Elements Damage Reduction Per Second has increased from 2/3/1/2 to 3/6/9.
- Mana Shield Damage Reduction Increased from 5/10/15% – 7/14/21%
- The bonus damage for Critical Strikes that devouring Blaze provides is reduced from 10%/20% to 7/14/21%.
- The bonus damage for Critical Strikes caused by Devouring Flame on Immobilized has been reduced from 25/50/75% down to 10/20/30%.
- Fiery Surge Mana Restoration increased from 10/20/30% up to 15/30/45%.
Paragon
- The Destruction Glyph affects now all damage, not just the Core Skills.
The Enchantments
- Spark Enchantment’s chance of forming Crackling Energy has increased from 10% up to 14%.
- The chance of Frozen Orb Enchantment being cast has increased from 20 to 30 percent.
- The cooldown for Incinerate Enchantment has been reduced from 18 seconds to 14 second.
- Hydra Enchantment Mana (300) threshold has been reduced to 200.
Legendary Aspects
- The cost of efficiency Mana has increased by 15-25% and also impacts Mastery skills.
- The damage attributed to Armageddon has increased from.205 -.25 to 0.35 – 0.4.
- The damage resulting from Shattered Stars has increased by.15 to.2.
