Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise Of The Dragons | New Gameplay Today

Wesley LeBlanc is joined by Marcus Stewart and Kyle Hilliard to discuss Double Dragon Gaiden : Rise of the Dragons. This upcoming sequel of the classic Beat ’em Up series. Wesley tried out one stage to see how Billy and Jimmy, two classic fighters, feel. The three then discuss the characters, visual style, combat and other aspects of this game.

Double Dragon Gaiden : Rise of the Dragons was announced by Secret Base, publisher Modus Games and the developer Secret Base earlier this summer. You can view the special trailer here. This game takes place in New York City, which has been devastated by a nuclear war. Billy and Jimmy are brawlers on the mission to recover what is left of New York City from the violent criminal gangs. They won’t do it alone, as the game includes a list of 13 fighters including Marian, the love interest, Uncle Matin and others. 

Secret Base claims that the game features “seamless teamwork abilities, as well as a variety of offensive and defensive strategies and combos.” You can switch characters as required in battle, just like you see above in the NGT. 

Double Dragon Gaiden Rise of the Dragons is available on the 27th of July for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S (PS5), PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch. The game will launch with two-player co-op and an update to add online co-op later.
