Bungie debuts horrifying new Screeb plush toy from Destiny 2
Bungie has to be stopped.
This Friday is the Destiny 2 developer announced via Twitter that it’s now taking pre-orders for a new plush from the universe of Destiny 2. The latest Bungie plush to be released is a nightmare.
Screeb now in polyester rather than zombified skin:

This toy is an abomination (not to be confused with Abominations, a different, equally upsetting enemy type in Destiny), it’s alarming to behold, and looks very soft. It’s also $30.
Let me give you a quick overview of Screebs for those who are unfamiliar. First introduced in 2018 Forsaken Screebs, in the expansion of Fallen are the mutant/undead Scorn subfamily. In-game, Screebs have numerous arms and creepy udders like their plush counterparts. They also explode when they are too close (but hopefully not as much like plush).
They are the worst. They love crawling around dark hallways to blow themselves and you to pieces. They’re like Creepers from Minecraft If spiders were Creepers.
But, apparently, when you take one of those nasty freaks and turn it into a plush, it’s almost obnoxiously cute to behold; even if it does look like a tiny airbag, or Randy dressed in his puffy coat from Christmas Story.
Bungie made a good choice in choosing one of the more disturbing characters to make into a plushie. Here’s hoping The Witness — the series’ big bad that’s a conglomeration of souls from a long-dead race, represented by billowing face-smoke that trails behind it, and looks vaguely like Megamind — isn’t next in line for the plush treatment.
