Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom: Who is Rauru?

Tears of the Kingdom – The Legend of ZeldaIntroduces new characters, including a Zonai-like tribe, as well as a mysterious race called Rauru. Rauru’s introduction carries larger implications for the series’ lore, connecting back to The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time The Zelda series has a whole new look.

Zonai was first hinted in Breath of WildThe tribe and Rauru play an important part in the Tears Of The Kingdom. Here’s what we know about them and their leader.

Who are Zonai?

Zelda describes the Zonai as an ancient race who, in Zelda’s words, once lived in the heavens and were endowed with godlike power. Link was first introduced to the Zonai in Breath of WildThe Zonai were unknown to us until recently. Tears Of The Kingdom. In the very first scene of the sequel Princess Zelda is interpreting ancient glyphs to tell how the Zonai ascended from heaven and assisted the Hylians create the original kingdom of Hyrule.

How do you play The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom as Rauru?

In the English dub, according to the game’s credits, Rauru is played by voice actor Chris Hackney, who has voiced characters in other popular media franchises likeHunter x Hunter (Illumi Zoldyck), Fire Emblem engage (Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddy), and Genshin Impact (Kamisato Ayato). Rauru, a Zonai that guides Link in the early stages of the game. It looks like an anthropomorphized regal goat.

We meet him abruptly. He’s the first Zonai that we encounter. Link and Zelda are separated after a disastrous encounter under Hyrule Castle with an evil being who looks similar to Ganon. Link wakes and discovers that his arm has been mysteriously changed, allowing him to possess powers. Breath of Wild. Link tries to enter the shrine after exploring the islands of the sky but is rejected by the seal. Link then turns around and meets the ghost of Rauru, who tells us that Link’s strange arm once belonged to him, and that Link needs to restore its power to open the door. Rauru introduces Link to the capabilities as we investigate.

Rauru’s name also connects him to previous games. Other Zelda game’s Sage of Light goes by the name Rauru. (The sages have appeared in several Zelda games, and generally speaking, they’ve served the role of sealing away evil and protecting the Triforce.) In Ocarina TimeLink is guided by a Sage Of Light, named Rauru. He takes on the appearance of an owl.
