HBO Max’s Dune prequel delayed yet again as its latest director departs
Dune: Sisterhood It is currently facing many obstacles on the road to television screens. HBO Max’s spinoff prequel series — originally designed by Dune movie director Denis Villeneuve as a prequel to his 2021 film — is on production hiatus, according to a Deadline report. Villeneuve first announced the series in 2019 and planned to direct the pilot. However, Villeneuve resigned from the series in 2022 in order to devote his time to the production of the second part. Dune movie project. He was succeeded by Chernobyl’s Johan Renck. Renck, Shirley Henderson and Shirley Henderson are now gone. Renck is also no longer involved in the project. Shirley Henderson was a popular actor best known as Moaning Myrtle in Harry Potter movies, and Babu Frik who plays Anzellan mechanic Babu Frik. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. An HBO Max spokesperson told Deadline that Renck is “moving on to pursue other projects,” and that the show, which was already in production, is on hold while the production company looks for another director, which could take months.
