After D&D’s missteps, Pathfinder and Starfinder look strong in 2023

Paizo enters 2023 in a prime position to make gains on its biggest competitor, Dungeons & Dragons. Publisher of the Pathfinder StarfinderLast week saw tabletop roleplaying games come out in force. The publisher committed itself to fighting for creator rights against the interference of Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro. But the Redmond, Washington-based publisher also has a healthy pipeline of new products — including hardcover books and PDFs — that can help groups steer their play in entirely new directions.

Pathfinder Treasure Vault

It’s the first thing to do. Pathfinder Treasure VaultAvailable from February 22, the book will include the following: With more than 600 new items and 50 new weapons, it’s an equipment book through and through — but with a twist. To ensure maximum reading comprehension, the guide is written through the eyes of a lowly kobold responsible for maintaining the dragon’s hoard.

It combines many locations that were only mentioned in passing, and expands each one into more vivid and 3-dimensional places. This book should be out by May.
