Marvel Snap ‘Battle Friends’ PvP Update Coming Later This Month
It might be your last chance to take on your Marvel Snap friends later in the month.
Marvel Snap was a success from the moment it was released. This allows you to challenge other players in real life with different cards, random locations and many more. One thing that players wanted, despite the favorable reception was the possibility to play against friends. Developer Second Dinner announced in November that it was working on an update to allow friends to battle each other and now, it has announced that this update is expected at the end of the month.
According to Second Dinner, although the update should be available in a January 31 update (but it is possible that there may be last-minute problems), we could delay the update for a while to make sure everything runs correctly. Eurogamer.
It was also revealed that Series Drops would be coming to the game.
The blog entry states that “We’ve been waiting a while since we introduced Series 4 & Series 5 cards. And we’re very excited about our first-ever Series Drop.” With every Series Drop, Series 5 cards move into Series 4 and Series 4 cards move into Series 3.
Here are the cards dropping from Series 5 to Series 4:
- Valkyrie
- Super-Skrull
- Bast
- Shuri
- Black Panther
These are the cards that have dropped from Series 4 and Series 3:
- Luke Cage
- Absorbing Man
- She-Hulk
- Titania
Second Dinner said that Series cards become 10 times more popular in Collector Reserves than they are in Token Shop. The company plans to have a Series Drop every month. Each one will need a patch. With the update to PvP, players will be able to challenge their friends. The above drop is set for January 31, along with the one mentioned. Except for Thanos, Galactus, and Galactus (6-cost cards), most cards can be found on the Table for Series Drops.
Series 5 cards will get Series 5 First Edition Badges before any series moves down. This is to allow players who have earned them before the drop to indicate that they do so. This badge will appear in all card variants, Infinity Splits, and on cards. Second Dinner plans to make the Token Shop more user-friendly so people who have not yet completed Series 3 will feel more comfortable earning Series 4, 5 or 5.

Personally, although I love these Series Drops I really can’t wait to see the PvP updates so that I can mop up with my favorite deck against one my closest friends, who for some strange reason thinks he’s even a shot against me.
