Dream is very popular MinecraftThe YouTuber, who was known for creating an avatar that featured a white mask and a smiley face with it, revealed his identity during Sunday’s stream. Since its upload last night, the single video has been seen over 16,000,000 times.

Dream has over 30,000,000 subscribers to YouTube, making him one of the most recognizable names online. His whimsical creations are well-known. MinecraftHe and others can create content in the Dream SMP server. MinecraftRole-playing scenarios that have loose narratives.

He explained to us why he revealed his identity after spending so long anonymously. According to him, it’s because he wants to meet friends, like the streamer GeorgeTo get out in the world.

“My goal was to start just, doing things, get out, meet creators, say hi to my friends finally. Just, get out in the world,” Dream said on the video. “Be an actual creator. Be a person.”

Dream said he probably won’t use a face cam in future content but he will be doing real-life content. After a lengthy hype train, friends posted videos of their reactions to Dream’s face being revealed in video chat.

Prior to Sunday’s reveal, only a select number of friends, like his roommate Sapnap, had seen his face. Known colloquially as a “faceless YouTuber,” Dream falls under a kind of a creator who protects their anonymity by never showing their actual face. Although Dream’s face was not revealed, this helped to protect his privacy and fueled speculation from fans.

Dream discussed how some fans may be overbearing in wanting to show his face. “The people trying to leak my face, trying to figure out what I look like,” he said. “There’s too much.”
