DC Fandome Will Not Return This Year
Warner Bros. announced that DC Fandome – a virtual fan event dedicated to DC films, TV series, and video games – will no longer be taking place in 2018. Discovery confirms.
DC Fandome’s first edition was held in 2020. This event served as an online alternative to traditional conventions. It featured virtual panels with celebrities and filmmakers that provided new announcements, trailers, and early looks at all things DC media. The 2020 and 2021 editions of Video Games gave us new views on Gotham Knights, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and other videogames.
To summarize, PopverseWarner Bros. Discovery explains the decision by writing:
“With the return of in person events, Warner Bros. Discovery is excited to be able to engage with our fans live at numerous comic-cons around the world and will not be scheduling DC FanDome for 2022.”
Fandome’s cancellation is an unfortunate blow in the ongoing transition resulting from April’s Warner Bros./Discovery merger. Fandome, even though it is only two years old has enjoyed great success and generated millions of viewers. The trailers that were created last year for the show highlighted Fandome’s success. Batman, Black AdamAnd The Flash. Unfortunately, DC’s film slate has been turned on its face since then with several delayed projects.Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, Shazam! Fury of Gods), in limbo (The FlashOr canceledBatgirl).
We won’t get to see them at DC’s biggest event. Gotham Knights launched on October 21st, and Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League will arrive in 2023.
