Rogue One gets IMAX rerelease in theaters ahead of Andor on Disney Plus

Star Wars Story: Rogue One In anticipation of the spin-off series, the film will be rereleased at 150 IMAX theatres in the U.S.A and Canada starting August 26. Andor.

Along with exclusive preview footage, the Star Wars 2016 prequel will show the story of a rebel spies who stole the Death Star plans. Andor ahead of that show’s debut on Disney Plus on September 21. Rogue OneIMAX also digitally remastered the presentation using its own remastering technology.

Film and series are inextricably linked. AndorThis event took place five years prior to the events of Rogue One and follows Diego Luna’s character from the movie, Cassian Andor, as the show charts the early days of the rebellion against the Empire.

Andor’s creator and showrunner is espionage specialist Tony Gilroy, the screenwriter of the Bourne films and writer-director of Michael Clayton. Disney hired Gilroy for rework of aspects. Rogue One’s script Direct reshoots and production alterations after Gareth Edwards was credited as the director.

Following the productions of both Rogue One and 2018’s SoloDisney and Lucasfilm had to end Star Wars Story as spin-offs. Instead, they repurposed an Obi-Wan Kenobi film into a Disney Plus Series. But Rogue One’s reputation has grown since its release, and it’s now regarded as perhaps the best film of the modern Star Wars era.

It should be well worth seeing again on the big screen — especially for the expansive, moody cinematography by Greig Fraser (Dune, Batman). Tickets on Sale Now
