Dragon Ball FighterZ Coming To PS5 And Xbox Series X/S With Rollback Netcode

Dragon Ball FighterZ finally has rollback netcode thanks to the recently announced PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S editions. It will also be made available to PC users.

For the unfamiliar, rollback netcode is a system that provides a nearly lag-free online experience, hence why it’s always a highly desirable feature in the fighting game community. DBFZ producer Tomoko hiroki revealed that current-gen editions of DBFZ will be able to support rollback code, while the PS4 or Xbox One versions won’t. Upgraded ports will not be released in the normal release windows, however. messageBandai Namco’s account on Twitter states that they will be learning more about the project later. It is expected that it may take some time before everything is complete.

This is bad news for anyone who doesn’t have a PS5/X/S. Bandai Namco plans to at least offer an upgrade path for current gamer’s on existing consoles. The Switch version is not mentioned.

Hiroki, too announcedDragon Ball FighterZ has now reached its content completion. This means that it won’t receive additional fighters nor balance updates. It received three DLC fighter pack DLCs during its life that included more than a dozen new characters.

Dragon Ball FighterZ launched its first game in January 2018, and has since been called one of the finest fighting games and possibly the best Dragon Ball Video Game ever. Our review can be found here.
