Chainsaw Man anime will premiere in October, new trailer reveals

MAPPA has unveiled a trailer to promote its upcoming conference. Chainsaw Man anime on Friday, introducing the series’ Japanese voice cast and announcing the series will premiere in October. Crunchyroll and Crunchyroll both will be simulcast Chainsaw ManIt has been for other MAPPA animes in the U.S. in the past, including Jujutsu KaisenAnd Attack on Titan Final Season 2.

The trailer opens on a shot of Makima, one of the series’ main characters, flanked by two Devil hunters, as she walks into a warehouse filled with mutilated bodies. Before the trailer ends, it transitions to several shots showing Denji (the protagonist), Aki Hayakawa, Power and Makima going through their everyday lives. Then, Denji transforms and starts dodging attacks while tearing apart Devils using his chainsaw.

Based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s critically acclaimed and ultra-violent action-horror manga, the series follows Denji, a teenage orphan living in a world populated by Devils, supernatural monsters born out of human fears.

Denji, along with Pochita the pet Chainsaw Devil, is made to become a Devil hunter in order to repay the father’s debt. Denji is betrayed by Pochita and taken to his grave. He makes an agreement with Pochita to fuse his dying heart with Chainsaw Man to create Chainsaw Man. This terrifyingly powerful Devil-human hybrid has the ability to summon chainsaws directly from his body.

This anime adaptation will be based on the Public Safety arc of the manga. It ended Dec. 14, 2020. The second part of the manga is called Public Safety arc. Chainsaw ManNew chapters of manga have just been published, and are available for purchase every Tuesday. read on Shonen Jump.
