Report: Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic Remake On Hold

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is still in development, according to reports. A trailer was shown in 2021. That’s the news as reported by Bloomberg The earlier statement, which quoted unnamed sources from its development, stated that the project had been stopped.

According to reports, the problems are caused by major departures of staff at Aspyr Media. The problems stemmed mainly from unexpected departures of major staff members at developer, Aspyr Media. License holders were pleased with a recent demo of the vertical slice version. However, later messaging to the rest of the development team suggested that the project wasn’t where studio leadership wanted it to be.

Aspyr developers are now saying that the release date for their project is 2025. 

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is a significant videogame history landmark. The original 2003 game was a significant milestone in successful and original video game storytelling in the Star Wars franchise and featured a memorable twist regarding a main character’s identity. It helped to popularize the moral and choice-driven decision-making found in Mass Effect.

Fans have been waiting for the remake since its inception, although it is now uncertain if they will be able to afford it.
