SDCC 2022: Black Panther 2 will end Marvel’s Phase 4

Although they didn’t go as far as releasing a trailer for Wakanda Forever: Black PantherMarvel, at San Diego Comic-Con announced that the film would be the final in Phase 4. Wakanda Forever: Black PantherThe movie will be released in cinemas November 11th 2022.

With the fourth phase, the MCU began. WandaVisionThis was the first Disney Plus TV series that became canon in The Marvel Cinematic Universe. First film Black WidowThe newest version of the character, titled “Resetting and Introducing New Characters”, was released in July 2021. With the company announcing the slate and release dates for Phase 5 at SDCC 2022, with representatives promising that the next phase was about “resetting and introducing new characters.”

Naturally Wakanda Forever: Black Panther will feature the most important returning characters, like Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), and Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o).

Between the publication of the first Black Panther and its sequel, star Chadwick Boseman, who played T’Challa, the MCU’s Black Panthera, passed away after a quiet battle with cancer. Marvel president Kevin Fiege has made it clear in the past that the role of T’Challa will not be recast.

Wakanda Forever: Black PantherRamonda (Angela Basset), Everett K. Ross, Okoye and Ramonda (Martin Freeman) are also back in Black Panther 2. Ryan Coogler (original director of Black Panther 2) will return to the sequel. Wakanda Forever with Joe Robert Cole, Coogler’s collaborator on the script for the original.
