Skate 4 devs asks fans to be patient, stop playing leaked build of game
Skate is a popular extreme skating sports video game from Electronic Arts. Fans are eagerly awaiting the sequel that was first announced in 2020. So much, in fact, they’re playing an internal build of the game that recently leaked, and the developers kindly want them to stop.
Skate Update Blog website, developer Full Circle thanked players for the enthusiastic response to the “pre-pre-pre-alpha” trailer released in June and the amount of participants who have signed up to playtest the game. That’s great! This is great news! Unfortunately, the developer had to address the players who downloaded an incomplete build of the game in September 2021. It appears that the first leak was made as early as April this year.

“We’re aware of an earlier version of the game that has been distributed without our authorization. This build is from September 2021 and was never intended for external use,” the developer said. “While we understand you’re excited to get into the game, we encourage you to be careful when downloading files from unknown sources (and remind you of the potential consequences of breaking EA’s Terms of Service).”
It ends with a reminder to people excited for the future Skate that the best way to play the game early is by signing up for EA’s insider playtesting program.
