Paper Girls on Amazon Prime has hints of Stranger Things

Amazon Prime Video shared a teaser trailer Wednesday for a show called “The Next Show”. Paper GirlsThe show looks like it is a tunnel full of time-space mystery and intrigue. Four newspaper delivery girls star in the show: Erin (Riley Lai Nelet), Tiffany Quilkin(Camryn Jones), Mac Coyle (“Sofia Rosinky”), KJ Brandman (“Fina Strazza”). When they accidently stumble upon a time travel conflict, which warps their lives between the future and 1988, the mundane of their job is transformed into the magical.

The series features some dark skies and the girls riding through an explosion-filled tunnel. There are also some thrilling bike rides. The series looks like it’ll have a lot of appeal to Stranger ThingsFans love it because of its adventurous spirit and unsettling cosmic elements. Ali Wong portrays Erin an older version, making things even more exciting.

It looks as though we’ll likely see more than just one adult version of the cast, and there’s room for lots of complexity between the two time periods. Here’s the premise according to Amazon:

It’s the day after Halloween in 1988 when four young friends accidentally stumble into an intense time war and find themselves inexplicably transported to the year 2019. Each girl learns about her strengths and comes face to face with her adult self as they attempt to save the world while going back in time.
