American aircraft manufacturer Beech Aircraft Corporation made it a twin-engine, low-wing utility plane. Frequently called the “Twin Beech” or, less commonly, the “Beech 18,” it seats six in typical configurations with two crew members. The aircraft flew its first flight in 1937 on January 15th, and it was soon introduced to mainstream service. Between 1937 and 1969, more than 9000 were produced.

Twin Beech’s twin radial engines have plenty of power and the aircraft has provided services such as cargo and passenger service, executive transport, science and fire suppression, mapping, and scientific research. The C-45 was used to bomb bombing, forward observation and reconnaissance during the Second World War. The Model 18 is still in use today, even though it’s old, thanks to its durable design and robust construction.

Model 18’s main wing has a slight-sloped profile and spans 47 feet 8 inches. There is a traditional undercarriage with twin fin empennage. The horizontal stabilizer, as well as two vertical stabilizers, are all part of the Model 18’s twin-fin empennage. It is powered by two wing-mounted Pratt & Whitney R-985-AN-1 Wasp Junior 9-cylinder radial engines that each produce up to 450 horsepower. It has an operating range of 1,130 miles and can climb at 1200 feet per hour. The service ceiling is 20,500 feet above the sea level. It cruises at 215 mph, can stall at 77mph, and has a maximum speed of 230 miles.

The Beechcraft Model 18 comes with ten liveries in total: a historic Navy, Aviator’s Club, Xbox Aviator’s Club, and seven civil variants.
