Mario Strikers: Battle League free Switch demo and multiplayer dates

Mario Strikers: Battle LeagueThis is the Strikers/soccer Mario game’s 15th anniversary. A Nintendo Switch demo has the free demo. The demo will contain online multiplayer matches. They are available in six hour windows, between June 3 and 6. You can download the demo now, or until June 5.

Called the “First Kick Demo Event,” the demo’s offline mode is a training module to get players acquainted with the basics of soccer-as-a-Mario-sport. With random matchmaking and friend invitations, online matches can support two players each side. Nintendo suggests that players who are interested in building their own team may try out all the characters, including those available from launch.

The following are the times Multiplayer will be accessible:

  • June 3, 8-9 p.m. PDT
  • June 4, 4-5 a.m. PDT
  • June 4, 12-1 p.m. PDT
  • June 4, 8-9 p.m. PDT
  • June 5, 4-5 a.m. PDT
  • June 5, 12-1 p.m. PDT

Access to the multiplayer part of the First Kick Demo Event requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Nintendo is dangling the usual free seven-day trial for those who don’t subscribe, and says that trial offer is good even for those who have used it in the past.

Mario Strikers: Battle LeagueNintendo Switch launches on June 10, 2018. It’s the long-distance sequel to 2007’s MarioStrikers Charged for Wii, and 2005’s Super Mario Strikers GameCube. Next Level Games is the developer of all three games. Next Level Games was acquired by Nintendo in 2021.
