First Kill is a gay vampire-hunter romance Netflix show based on V.E. Schwab’s short story

Netflix’s First Kill This adds some variety to the paranormal romance genre, which dominated YA books in the 2000s. This version of vampire-meets–human romance has one partner who is a slayer. Also, they’re both girls.

Leads of First Kill Both come from very different backgrounds, and both want to be the first ones. Calliope, played by Imani Lewis, comes from a long lineage of monster-slayers. To join the ranks she must kill her first vampire. Juliette (Sarah Catherine Hook), who comes from a long history of vampires, must kill her first victim. The two of them set their eyes on one another, but they quickly fall for each other.
