Days Gone Director Is Now Working At Tomb Raider And Marvel’s Avengers Studio Crystal Dynamics

Following a brief stint at NetherRealm Studios last year, the game director of Days Gone at Sony’s Bend Studio has announced he has started work at Crystal Dynamics.

Ross posted a tweet today reiterating a number of openings at Crystal Dynamics. He also revealed that he was working as the design director at the company. “I am excited to say that I’m now the Crystal Dynamics Design Director. Ross says it all in the tweet: “That’s all that I can do except to say I am thrilled with this project and the team of truly wonderful people.”

Ross has left a mystery as to which project he is attached. We now know of two upcoming projects that Crystal Dynamics is working on: the just-announced Tomb Raider game running on Unreal Engine 5 and Xbox and The Initiative’s new Perfect Dark title, which Crystal Dynamics was announced to be assisting with development in September 2021.

It is not known if Jeff Ross is currently working on one of these projects, or another. It seems the studio isn’t lacking in exciting projects at the moment. Considering the call for more developers to join the team, Crystal Dynamics looks to be staffing up appropriately.

Crystal Dynamic has released the Marvel’s Avengers live-service superhero team-up, which was recently updated. The game had its fair share of problems and the progression system was redesigned. New characters were also added and expanded upon.

Ross participated in most Syphon Filter series design and Resistance: Retribution. He spoke out about Days Gone’s development and how he felt that he was not given permission to make a sequel, even though the game sold millions.
