A Brand-new Commentary Team is Coming to MLB The Show 22

Jon ‘Boog’ Sciambi and Chris Singleton join the game as the new play-by-play and color commentary voices of MLB The Show 22.

To MLB The Show 22, the team at San Diego Studio have been hard at work innovating one of the core components and features of the in-game experience, an entirely new commentary system and broadcast team featuring Jon ‘Boog’ Sciambi and Chris Singleton for the first time in The Show history. Here’s a look behind the curtain:

• There were 128 recording sessions, with 350 hours of recording and 45,000 audio lines. It’s no surprise that Boog and Singy were cloned in this video with Coach.
• A variety of major categories have seen their commentary systems redesigned, including intros to games, home run calls and post-play analyses.
• New conversation technology has been introduced that allows commentators to have more natural conversations and seamlessly connect with each other during the games. To bring this feature alive, Boog and Singy combined a number of their lines.
• The audio stitching enhancements improve the player name integration and increase the play-by–play call variety. To match each moment’s excitement, an enhanced dynamic range has been added to play-by-play call.
• The Show’s commentary and real MLB broadcasts provide a unique content experience that each player can enjoy.

Jon ‘Boog’ Sciambi and Chris Singleton have had stellar careers as MLB broadcasters, with over a decade of experience calling games together, and we are excited to bring their talents to MLB The Show 22To create a more genuine gaming experience. Are you excited to join the new commentary group? MLB The Show 22?

Singy: “I can’t really express how excited I am to be part of the broadcast team for MLB The Show! To have an imprint on one of the top video games in the world is something me and my family will always reflect on with great joy.”

Boog: “Working on MLB The Show 22The experience was a thrill, and it is one of my most memorable and original experiences in my entire career. Partnering with Singy has made it extra special because I get to share the experience with a friend.”

Was it like to collaborate with San Diego Studio in order for your voice to be heard?

Boog: “The San Diego Studio team has been incredible in their dedication and attention to detail; those guys made it fun and are a huge part of why the process was both successful and enjoyable.”

Single: “Working with San Diego Studio over the past few years has truly been one of the most memorable experiences of my career.  This isn’t easy work for any of us but we all became a family and enjoyed the grind together.  The entire team loves the sport of baseball so much that often times our recording sessions featured passionate “off air” discussions/debates about the sport that consumes us.”
