Amazon’s The Boys: Diabolical trailer offers extended look at gory animated anthology

Amazon releases a new trailer The Boys: A Diabolical StoryThe animated new spinoff to the dark anti-superhero series, ‘Animated Superhero! The BoysOn Wednesday, we get a glimpse of the violent shenanigans that Prime Video will be showing next month.

The series, an animated anthology series of eight 12- to 14-minute episodes, each with their own distinct animation style and set in the universe of The Boys, is being produced by Titmouse, the adult-animation studio behind such shows as Paramount Plus’ Star Trek: Lower Decks, Netflix’s The Midnight Gospel, Hulu’s Animaniacs reboot, and Amazon’s InvincibleSeries Critical Role Legend of Vox Machina.

Garth Ennis is the comic book creator who created the original version. The BoysAlong with Awkwafina, a movie star and musician, he is one of the writers credited on the series.Shang-Chi, the Legend of the Ten Rings and Shang-Chi); Lonely Island’s Andy Samberg; longtime writing partners Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg; SplicedCreater and Invincible screenwriter Simon Racioppa; Archer’s Aisha Tyler; Rick and Morty’s Justin Roiland and Ben Bayouth; and sibling duo Ilana Glazer (co-creator of Broad City) and Eliot Glazer (producer of The New Girl).

Amazon also published the titles and credits of each episode, along with a description about their animation styles, in addition to the trailer.
