Stranger Of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin Reveals More Characters And Locations
Already, Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin gave us demos and an overview of what was to follow ahead of the March 2022 launch. Today Square revealed some new locations and characters. We’ve seen that this action-RPG, packed full of elements from Nioh titles, also draws heavily from Final Fantasy. Particularly, everything about the game’s world, music and characters is rooted in the original NES version. These aspects may look different now and have been vastly modified to make the game more action-oriented, but it is still evident.

Today we see the town of Pravoka and one character that were present in Final Fantasy before they could obtain the boat. Final Fantasy has you making your first trip to Pravoka, where you will be fighting Captain Bikke and his band of pirates. It looks like this character will be much more prominent than the few dialogue lines and minions.

The Captain Bikke new appearance is an extreme extension of his original sprites. Stranger of Paradise seems to have taken Final Fantasy and gone wild with its parts. Although it’s an odd mix, I have found that it works well in all of the games I’ve tried. It’s unknown exactly where this encounter will fit in to the Stranger of Paradise tale, but if it follows the standard route, it is likely quite early in the game – shortly after the demo segment where our characters take on Garland. There is still plenty of time to be had with the mission-based layout and map, where players have access to replay content in order gain level and gather resources.

Square today posted an article on the official website with more details. This includes information on some characters and details about combat that were already revealed during previous stages.
