Nintendo Direct September 2023: All game announcements and trailers

Nintendo Direct’s latest episode promised viewers an overview of the Switch lineup this winter including new releases Super Mario Bros. WonderThe remake of Super Mario RPG, and Princess Peach’s first new game in more than 17 years. If you couldn’t watch September’s big Nintendo Direct live, here’s a recap of all the new game announcements, release dates, and other highlights from Nintendo’s biggest showcase.

Paper Mario: the Thousand-Year Door

Paper Mario’s classic GameCube role-playing game is heading to Nintendo Switch with enhanced HD graphics. When? Nintendo has said that the year 2024 will be the date.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong

Nintendo Switch is getting a new puzzle platformer game in the Mario vs. Donkey Kong franchise. Next entry will feature local co-op and be available on Switch in 2024.

Splatoon Side Order Expansion Pass

Splatoon 3.’s Side OrderDLC will offer a completely new experience as you ascend the Spire of Order. It’s coming to Switch sometime in spring 2024.

Super Mario RPG

Super Mario RPG remakes Square’s beloved role-playing game with a few new tweaks, including updated Action Commands to unleash all-new Triple Moves, when it comes to Switch on Nov. 17. Nintendo has released a new, slick trailer.

Other Code: Recollection

Nintendo DS game Trace MemoryWii is back! Another Code: R – A Journey into Lost Memories — which was never released in North America — are coming to Switch in the two-game package, Other Code: Recollection. The collection is due to be launched on January 19, 2024.

Princess Peach – Showtime

A night at the theater goes south when Grape and the Sour Bunch take over the Sparkle Theater, forcing Princess Peach and the theater’s guardian Stella to save the day in Princess Peach – ShowtimePeach can take on different forms with each having a unique gameplay. For example, Detective Peach and Kung Fu Peach. Princess Peach: ShowtimeNintendo Switch will be available on March 22nd, 2024.

Detective Pikachu Returns

Tough-talkin’ Pikachu and his pal Tim Goodman are back for a new adventure where they’re looking for answers to a jewel heist, what happened to Tim’s dad, and strange Pokémon-related incidents throughout Ryme City. Detective Pikachu ReturnsSwitch will launch on October 6.

Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD

Luigi’s Mansion: Dark MoonNintendo Switch will soon be able to play the game. Luigi’s Mansion 2 HDSummer 2024 will see co-op games for as many players as four.

F-Zero 99

Super NES Racing Game F-Zero is back — in battle royale form! F-Zero 99The race will pit 99 racers against each other on a futuristic hovertrack in an effort to get across the finish line. F-Zero 99It is only available through the Nintendo Switch Online Subscription starting today.

The WarioWare series: Move it!

The next collection of microgames for Wario, his friends and employees is an island vacation. The WarioWare series: Move it!Nintendo WarioWare, the latest release on Switch for Nintendo Switch, will feature more than 200 games including micro-games as well as multiplayer.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course DLC

The sixth and final piece of Nintendo’s grand DLC plan for Mario Kart 8 DeluxeThis holiday season, Daisy Circuit and other new courses will be available. Mario Kart WiiThe bestselling Kart Racer now includes four brand new racers: Diddy Kong (Funky Kong), Paulina (Paulina) and Peachette.

Spy x Anya: Operation Memories

The next entry in Square Enix’s SaGa role-playing game series is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2024.

Unicorn Overlord

Atlus VanillawareAegis Rim, Odin Sphere() have teamed up to create a fantasy-themed tactical game that will feature overworld exploration, an innovative battle system and a fascinating storyline. Unicorn Overlord. It’s coming to Switch on March 8, 2024.

Operation Galuga

Konami, WayForward and the developers bring back original ContraNintendo Switch Operation Galuga, a “thorough reimagining of the classic run-’n’-gun action game.” The new Contra is coming to Switch in early 2024.

Trombone Champ
