Save $80 on the OLED Switch this weekend

As we wave goodbye to Prime Day 2023, we’re also saying adieu to Video Game Fashion Week, Polygon’s annual tradition of celebrating all of the fabulous and weird ways gaming and glamour collide. We’re always offering great deals at Polygon. While you might not get a deal on Team Rocket or Sailor Moon streetwear, there may be one that has your name written on it.

We’ve included some of our favorite deals this week from the worlds of gaming and entertainment, along with some of the best-selling products that have made an appearance on Polygon this week.

Best gaming offers this week

It’s normally $349.99, but you can currently pick up the Japanese model of the Nintendo Switch OLED at Woot for just $289.99, less than the price of the vanilla Switch. This OLED version is very similar to the standard model, with a few improvements including better audio and an improved kickstand.

There is only one problem: the documentation and box are both in Japanese. Once you have set it up and selected English as your primary language you will be able to use the Switch just like you would any other Switch in North America.

Nintendo Switch: Even though there are more powerful handhelds like the Steam Deck or Asus ROG Ally on the market, it is the only place (officially) to enjoy first-party Nintendo releases like Tears of the Kingdom: The Legend of Zelda, Metroid DreadMario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope.

This deal will stick around for the next seven days or until stock runs out, but this is a fantastic opportunity if you’re considering investing in Nintendo’s upgraded handheld.

Just in case the Nintendo Switch isn’t your preferred console, there are a couple of Xbox-centric deals worth checking out too. Currently, Halo Master Chief CollectionXbox is selling the game for only $9.99. While this massive collection for the Xbox and PC has always been free for Game Pass subscribers, this isn’t a bad deal for a bundle that includes six of the best shooters ever made.

Newegg still offers a discount Xbox Series X Bundle with a Digital Code for Diablo 4. This bundle normally costs $559.99. However, you can get it for only $519.99. You save $50 over the price of both items.

Newegg still has the massive 43-inch Asus ROG Strix gaming monitor on sale for $699.99. It was originally $899.99. You can also get an extra $50 with a mail-in rebate. It has a large flat panel display with a refresh rate of 144Hz, AMD FreeSync compatibility, and a 1-ms response. If you’ve got the space for it, the ROG Strix 4K gaming monitor is an excellent choice for a top-tier gaming monitor.
