Twitch streamer justfoxii’s car set on fire by alleged stalker

A New York man reportedly drove hundreds of miles to Twitch streamer Kylee Carter’s Ohio home and set her car, a Jaguar F-type, on fire. Farhan Jami (28), was arrested near the scene of the crime in late May. According to court records and arrest records obtained by Polygon, he is currently in Ohio custody while awaiting trial on charges of felony aggravated assassment.

Carter is an online streamer of 25 years old who uses the name justfoxii. He plays games including FortniteTalking with the viewers via chat is possible. She’s got 593,000 followers on Twitch and 127,000 on Instagram. Early June, a local Fox affiliate published the details about the arson that occurred on May 16th.

Carter hasn’t streamed on Twitch and has been quiet on social media since the incident. She published on Tuesday a YouTube video of four minutes detailing the arson along with home security footage showing a man (reportedly Jami) starting the fire which engulfed the front hood. Carter was out of town at the time, but both her mother and the pets were in the home.

Video shows someone wearing a face mask placing a bucket and what seems to be bricks on the hood, before lighting something within the bucket. The car catches fire before it spreads to an “adjacent fence” and the home, according to a criminal complaint. Carter stated in her YouTube clip that the fire department arrived promptly and extinguished the fence.

Carter’s mother called 911 at 2:26 a.m. local time and police and firefighters were on-scene in under 10 minutes, according to the 911 call report obtained by Polygon. The mother of Carter told police she was a well-known video game broadcaster, and believed the attack was probably the work of a stalker. Although her daughter could see fires outside, the woman was afraid to venture out in case the perpetrator was still present. Jami was found “in the area” and taken into custody “after the investigation concluded,” according to the criminal complaint. “Jami was found to be wearing clothing consistent in the video and matched the suspect in the video,” it alleged. “Nearby him was [sic] articles related to the initial crime scene.”

“We’re all traumatized in ways that I will never be able to describe but I’m just glad that everybody is safe,” Carter said, in the YouTube video. “That’s the most important thing to me. I never thought that when I started streaming back in 2015 that something like this would ever happen to me.”

Carter has not responded to Polygon’s request for comment. Jami continues to be in Ohio’s custody. A grand jury has taken over the case. The court date has not been announced.
