Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged Crosses The Finish Line In October

For a licensed racing game, 2021’s Hot Wheels Unleashed was a fun and respectable debut, and now we’ll get to see how developer Milestone builds on that foundation with an upcoming sequel.

Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged arrives on October 19 and retains the fun “little toy car in a big world” presentation with new additions under the hood. At launch, the game includes over 130 vehicles including motorcycles and quads.

The game features five environments that require new skills, including double-jumping and lateral dashing. Double jumping can be done at any moment to jump over obstacles and rivals, whereas dashing allows you to side swipe or dodge hazards. Milestone boasts enhanced interactivity of vehicles and other objects, both on the track and off. Playstyles are customizable using skill points.

There are four new characters and a completely redesigned story mode, with cutscenes. Other challenges include events designed to test players’ skills such as drifting and evading crashes. The game now supports online multiplayer cross-play, except on Switch. Players can also create friends parties. The local two-player splitscreen is also back.

In addition to the popular Livery Editor, the updated version of the Track Editor now includes the Sticker Editor for creating and saving custom shapes and patterns. All user-generated material will be cross-platform shareable at launch.

Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 Turbocharged is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S (PS4), Xbox One (Xbox One Switch), PC, and Switch. See some of the cars featured in the sequel by checking out the gallery.
