There are still ways for people who don’t have the figurine to obtain this item. The page will cover how you can get an ancient sword for free and with an amiibo. It also covers the places where you buy them later.

What exactly is an ancient knife?

You’ll spend a lot of the early game getting one-shotted by enemies. Even if you’re incredibly deft with the Switch, chances are, you’ll take a blow at some point that eliminates all of your hearts in one go. It’s annoying, but the ancient blade is your chance to even the odds.

This ancient dagger is too small for a full-sized weapon, but it can be attached to an arrow or used to attach to a weapon. With +50 Fuse Attack Power, this makes some powerful arrows and is a great boon for late-game bosses such as King Gleeoks.

However, it’s good for more than just bosses. The weapon is so powerful that it can also kill most of your enemies in one shot!

Be aware, however, that it is as powerful as it is fragile, and it will break on use — even if you fuse it to an arrow and miss. Plus, anything you kill will be removed from existence — loot and all.

Where to find the ancient blades in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

You can get at least one free ancient blade in Hyrule. Although there are rumors of more hidden in chests, we’re yet to verify this. It is free to download this one.

Look for the Well at the Highland Stable, located in the Faron Grasslands.

Grab a hammer, and bash the wall nearby. You will need to prepare for battle, as you’ll have an opponent once you pass through. The Silver Bokoblin is accompanied by two Shock Likes.Waiting for You

Dismiss (or run by) the enemies and continue on the path. This path is going to veer left, leading you out at the beach. When you spot these boxes, instead, run down and grab them.

It’s very faint, but you can make out the chest we’re looking for in the picture above, at the base of the middle wooden box. Grab your prized loot and head down to the bottom of that wooden box!

Tears of the Kingdom: How do I get an ancient knife with the amiibo?

This is the fastest and easiest method to unlock an ancient blade. Tears of Kingdom is to use an amiibo — specifically the 2017 Archer Link from Breath of Wild. Back then, it dropped random food items along with a strong bow, so that’s a pretty decent return on investment!

You can only use an amiibo once per day if it is for Legend of Zelda. You will want to buy the ancient blade every day because it is so powerful.

What are the ancient blades available in Zelda: The Tears of the Kingdom?

It is clear that the ancient blade, with its power and rarity, will be a very late game item. The fact that you can purchase them at the store is a good indication of this. Tears of KingdomTo do this, you will have to pass through a number of hoops.

Firstly, you need to complete the fifth temple in the game — the Spirit Temple in the Depths — as part of the “Guidance of Ages Past” quest.

One of the Constructs will offer you an old blade at the price of 50 Zonaite after clearing out the Temple of all enemies. That’s a lot of mining you need to do for a single one-use item!
