Class of ‘09 is a crime-thriller series about AI being used in the FBI

Something big is happening at the FBI in the trailer for FX’s new original series Class of ’09. This series stars Brian Tyree Henry.Bullet Train, AtlantaKate Mara (House of CardsIt seems like a mystery series about a group of FBI agents who are all part of the same FBI class. Other than that, the series isn’t revealing too many of its mysteries just yet.

We see a couple of graduates of this important FBI class. These were selected for their expertise in areas other than law enforcement. But what’s not clear from the trailer is what exactly happens next. There are a couple of changes to the time frame, but we also see the character being forced into some larger conspiracy, which may threaten the characters or the nation.

The trailer’s YouTube description does offer up a few more clues, including some hints about how the show will be structured:

FX’s Class of ’09 The story follows three FBI agents who, at different times in history, deal with enormous changes caused by the U.S. Criminal Justice System’s alteration by artificial intelligence. The series spans multiple decades, and is told over interwoven timelines. It examines justice and humanity, and the decisions that will ultimately determine our lives and future.

As for the details of how all that happens, or how the story comes together moment-to-moment, we’ll just have to wait until the series comes out next month.
