Aragami Studio Lince Works Is Shutting Down

Lince Works (the studio that created the Aragami franchise) has declared its intention to close next month.

The Barcelona, Spain-based studio, which was founded in 2014, will end development on all of its projects as a result of closing its doors in April, as reported by Gematsu. After nine years of work, the studio says it is closing down due to an unfavorable economic context. This includes 2016’s Aragami and its Nightfall DLC. 2021’s Aragami will also be created by the studio.

This is the complete statement of the studio on closing:

This is important news. We regret to inform you that Lince Works has decided not to continue developing new projects. This will take effect in April.

Over the past nine year, we were able to pursue what we truly love, which has allowed us to create immersive, entertaining games for our customers. It is something we are very proud of.

Unfortunately, this is the end of our road.

These last few years were particularly challenging as we moved towards developing new IPs and setting a new direction for the company. While we had high hopes for what our studio could achieve, unfortunately, economic circumstances were not conducive and time ran out.

Our hearts break knowing that our hard-won work over the last year won’t be rewarded.

Our community, players all over the globe and their support will be forever grateful. We are grateful for your loyalty and passion in our games and cannot express enough gratitude for all the support we have received throughout this period.

We want to assure you that Aragami and Aragami 2 will remain available across all platforms and store fronts and the online co-op will be accessible.

Our team has been a tremendous help in bringing these games to life. We also want to thank them. We are sad to have to part ways with our wonderful team, but we know they will be bringing their passion and talent to the industry for the future. We are going to do everything we can to assist them in finding the right place for their future.

We may close our doors but the experiences and memories shared with our team and our fans will be there forever.

Thanks for sharing your journey with us and making it memorable.
