New Hogwarts Legacy Gameplay Showcases Open World, Combat, And The Room Of Requirement

Avalanche Software developer and Warner Bros. Games publisher have released a new gameplay video to show three distinct aspects of their upcoming wizarding RPG, the open-world, combat and the famous Room of Requirement in the castle.

Hogwarts Legacy will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S starting February 10. A recent delay has caused the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game to move back to April 4 while the Switch version was delayed to July 25. You can see four different views of Hogwarts legacy gameplay, either to calm players after yesterday’s delay or to make February more exciting.

All of them were aired in today’s Hogwarts Heritage showcase.

Hogwarts Legacy: Open World

According to a press release, “In the first part of gameplay, the student of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, in the late 1800s,” the player climbs onto their broom and flys low over the open land. After flying above the Scottish Highlands the player lands and explores a small hamlet that allows them to meet various witches or wizards. They can also participate in quest opportunities. To traverse the terrain as the snow falls and it becomes wintery, the player mounts the Onyx Hippogriff (an exclusive Hippogriff version only available to pre-orders).

Hogwarts Legacy – Combat

Combat is the main focus of this second gameplay video. The Dark Arts cosmetic set is worn by the player. Avalanche says that the player walks through Forbidden Forest, before jumping onto a Thestral and heading towards the Dark Arts Battle Arena. The Dark Arts cosmetic, Thestral mounted, and Dark Arts Battle Arena can only be purchased as part of the Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition.

According to the press release, “The player casts immediately an Avada Kedavra curse to instantly make the enemy’s health bar go to zero.” The player can bring tools, such as potions or plants from the Room of Requirement with him into battle to aid in defeating enemies more effectively.

Hogwarts Legacy: Room of Requirement

The third and fourth Hogwarts Legacy gameplay video clips from today’s show give us a glimpse at the famous Room of Requirement. You can customize this area in many ways including the architecture.

The press release states that conjurations may be obtained at Tomes and Scrolls in Hogsmeade, or they can be used to reward players for participating in various activities in the game. You can customize utility items such as brewing stations and planting pots.

Players can summon the Loom over the course of Hogwarts Legacy. This is used to modify and enhance gear’s magical abilities. You will see the Vivarium where Hogwarts beasts are kept. Here are the Graphorn and Nifler as well as Kneazle and Mooncalf. For magical items that you can use to customise and enhance your gear, your beasts will be allowed to be petted and fed. You can play with your animals in a toy box, and you can even name them individually.

That’s all for today’s Hogwarts Legacy gameplay demonstration.
