Microsoft Reveals ‘Curated Demos’ Program For Game Pass Members, New Xbox Design Lab Colors

Microsoft today announced that the new Xbox app will allow Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to stream their games via Samsung Smart TVs. However, that’s not all the company had to reveal today.

Microsoft has posted a blog entry on Xbox Wire about Project Moorcroft. This is Microsoft’s take on PlayStation Plus Game Trials, and it will launch with the newly redesigned service June 13. According to the blog post, the program will bring “the fun and discovery of playing new, curated demos of upcoming games to our Xbox Game Pass members,” and it will begin rolling out next year. It will start with “a focus on providing independent developers from around the world more opportunities to build excitement for their games.”

Xbox says participating developers will be able to see how their demos perform, and the company will compensate them too, “enabling them to bring their creativity to Xbox and reach new audiences with Game Pass.” Xbox also says that later this year, “it’s our intent to roll out the ability for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members to play, from the cloud, select games they already own or have purchased outside the Xbox Game Pass library.”

Microsoft revealed new colors in the blog post for Xbox Design Lab. These colors include Soft Pink and Soft Orange as well as Soft Green and Soft Purple. New Camo Tops are available with matching side caps. These include Blaze Camo and Blaze Camo. Xbox Design Lab launches in 11 countries including Australia, New Zealand Japan, Korea Singapore, Czech Republic Greece Hungary Norway Slovakia and Switzerland. Later this summer, Xbox Design Lab will be available in Taiwan.
