Read five pages from James Tyion IV’s Sandman miniseries Nightmare Country

As any fan will inform you, The Sandman, the basic comedian sequence created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg, was initially a horror sequence. One of the vital scary concepts it launched? That Nightmares are sentient creatures made to prey on guests by means of the dream world — and that they may get out.

Nightmare Nation, the forthcoming sequence from present Batman author James Tynion IV and artist Lisandro Estherren, leans into that horror. Specializing in fan favourite nightmare the Corinthian, the sequence follows the monster with tooth for eyes as he’s set unfastened in the true world as soon as once more in an effort to discover a nightmare that dream didn’t create. The continued sequence, in keeping with DC, will take readers on “a journey that crosses all probably the most terrifying corners of America: the collections of True Crime aficionados, white supremacist militia camps, galleries specializing within the artwork of horror, and extra.”

This five-page preview makes its personal brief self-contained story, and units a definite tone, as a personality named Flynn talks about their goals. And since that is The Sandman, that’s a really harmful factor to do.
