Horizon Forbidden West Patch Tackles Many Community-Reported Issues

Horizon Forbidden West may have had a great launch, as far as player reviews are concerned. However, some players reported visual bugs and progression (among others). Guerrilla Games’ latest 1.06 patch aims to address these reported issues.

There are spoilers in mission notes so I won’t be posting them. Still, significant changes focus on main quests/side quests, world activities, UI/UX, graphics, performance/stability, and many other miscellaneous features. You can find the full list by clicking here.

  • Dome views were displaying incorrectly after saving. This was fixed.
  • Fix for an issue that a Vista image appeared in front of the Black Box collectible.
  • Camera jittering, behaving unintentionally and several other instances fixed.
  • Multiple crash fixes.
  • Numerous visual and auditory improvements have been made to the cinematics.

These are only a small percentage of all the fixes that will be available, so make sure to check the links above to see the full patch notes. There are still some problems that need to be addressed in the 1.06 patch.

  • Players have reported several issues with screen saturation, sharpening, and shimmering when they move the camera. The team is continuing to examine these problems.
  • Some players reported that Firegleam icons don’t disappear from the map when they interact with them.
  • Side quest “Breaking Even” has been reported by some players as an issue wherein they cannot talk to Porguf while Talanah is at Camp Nowhere. This blocks progress of the quest.
  • Some players reported hearing the “The World on Her Shoulders”, a music track, repeatedly playing throughout their playthrough. This patch contains a partial solution to stop this from happening to other players. Players currently suffering from this problem are being addressed by us.
  • Our team is looking into reports that some players are not able reach 100 percent in the Game Progression menu.
